AND WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS!?

Hello and welcome! I’m Camilo Neri, a graphic designer first and illustrator second. My love for fine art and sketching has always been part of me, but I strive to create design that reaches beyond galleries to make a real impact. Call me traditional, but I believe in informed, intentional design—rooted in the Vignelli canon. In a world of fleeting trends and short attention spans, this approach feels more vital than ever.

My personal style reflects who I am. Growing up exploring nature, flipping rocks for bugs, and scanning the skies for peregrine falcons has shaped my perspective. A decade of martial arts—blending the fluidity of Capoeira and the structure of Tae Kwon Do—sparked my fascination with contrasts, which shows in my work. For instance, my typography experiments juxtapose sharp, blackletter styles with freeform, biomorphic script.

I also draw from my Mexican heritage, incorporating Talavera-inspired ornamentation, Mesoamerican iconography, and vibrant color palettes.

A good creative stays curious. Like Darwin, who discovered evolution through economics, I find inspiration by diving into many fields—literature, music, art history, and beyond. I read everything from poetry and novels to art criticism, play bass to unwind, and geek out over art history to ground my style in context. My advice? Stay curious and explore the unexpected—it’ll fuel your creativity.

While my work is deeply personal, my broad experience means I can adapt to bring your vision to life.
